You may have noticed two NEW faces joining Dr. Ai-Ling Lee at Albany Creek Doctors! Both Doctors Ajit Kaur Calais and Khin Thet Thet Lwin are now available for appointments. We welcome them and appreciate their help in supporting our local community with their services! Both doctors are experienced general practitioners, with Dr Calais holding further interest in additionally offering complimentary medicine and nutritional advice, and Dr Lwin with a supportive family medicine approach to general practice.

About Dr. Khin Thet Thet Lwin:

Dr Lwin graduated from Institute of Medicine (1), Yangon, Myanmar. She has been practising Medicine in Australia since 2011. Before joining general practice training in Hervey Bay, she worked as a resident medical officer in Rockhampton, Perth and Hervey Bay hospitals for 3.5 years. She became a fellow of Royal Australian College of GPs (FRACGP) in 2018.

She also obtained Diploma in Child Health (Sydney Children’s Hospital Network) in 2016.Dr Lwin enjoys all aspects of general practice with particular interests in children’s and women’s health, family planning, chronic disease management.

Dr Ajit Kaur Calais is a qualified Specialist General Practitioner with over 37 years experience working in Australia and Malaysia. She has been working as a local Family GP in the Moreton Bay Regional Council area for the past 27 years. Dr Calais interests include whole of family health services, women’s health, weight management, nutritional advice, immunisations, travel medicine and ante natal care. She is also very open about and embraces complementary and alternative medicine modalities in her practice. Dr Calais undertook a Nutritional Masters Course organised by Metagenics in 1997. She has also completed a course in Injectable Nutritional Therapy and Clinical Nutrition organised by the Australian College of Medical Nutrition. Over the years she has kept herself updated with new developments and research in medicine.

REGISTER YOUR INTEREST FOR COVID-19 VACCINATIONS

Albany Creek Doctors has been accepted into Stage 1B of the Coronavirus Vaccine roll-out!
They are currently in preparation for receiving the first vaccines in early April. To let them know you are interested, fill in your details on their online form here.
They will contact you when you are eligible, and have available vaccines. The Australian COVID-19 vaccination program commenced rollout in February 2021, involving a staged plan with expanding eligibility criteria throughout 2021.

 

The vaccine is completely government sponsored, and currently involves two doses spaced between 6 and 12 weeks. It is important to listen to your provider about when you should book in for the follow-up dose.
