Bloom Hearing welcomes their new Audiologist Eve Yao! With years of experience under her belt, Eve is excited to bring her passion and care to Albany Creek Village, with a vision to make everyone feel their very best.

We sat down with Eve find out more about her professional background, experience and passion for her career in audiology. 

Why did you want to become an audiologist?

I moved from Taiwan to Adelaide 8 years ago to study and practice audiology. My brother’s girlfriend is an Aussie which was the main reason, so that I could meet her and my brother is also an audiologist. He always spoke about it being a really rewarding job and from then on, I was set on that career. 

What are your qualifications?

I have a Masters in Audiology and I have been practicing for 6 years, which I have really enjoyed.

What is your favourite part of your job?

The best part is that I get to see different people everyday. After you meet clients and they become regular patients, you see them as being your ‘family’ in a sense. The part that I enjoy the most is once someone has been fitted with a hearing device, you see their eyes light up, being able to hear and experience things they haven’t been able to in years! You know it’s helped them in multiple ways as their quality of life and experiences with their family and friends vastly improves. 

Do you assist kids with hearing issues?

Yes we regularly practice paediatric audiology and we find many kids from the local schools visit Bloom Hearing. Sometimes with kids, behavioural issues can often stem from having hearing issues. Therefore it’s a great idea to get them checked with a hearing test. If we need to we can refer them on for more testing. 

What do you love most about Albany Creek Village?

What I love most about being at Albany Creek Village are the familiar faces, it really is a great community. I love working alongside Jodee, she really does have a friendly nature and makes coming to work so much better!
